South Sound Choir Academy is committed to cultivating an organization that embraces, models, and supports the values of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Our ongoing work includes examining practices and policies to ensure that we foster a culture of acceptance and respect for all individuals, that we reflect the populations and communities we serve, and that we ensure equitable access to resources and opportunities. We will continue to assess and address our work to ensure we do not perpetuate systemic exclusion, disenfranchisement and disinvestment of groups and individuals. We acknowledge that we operate on the traditional homelands of the Puyallup and Nisqually Tribes, and on lands with deep significance to other Coast Salish tribes. Coast Salish people have lived on and stewarded these lands since time immemorial and continue to do so today. We recognize that this land acknowledgement is one small step toward true allyship and we commit to uplifting the voices, experiences, and histories of the Indigenous people of this land and beyond. |
